→ Canon Digital Creators Contest
Les juges internationaux du Canon Digital Creators Contest ont décidé de décerner le prix bronze à nos deux oiseaux peu concrets, une illustration semi-générative réalisée en étroite collaboration avec mon ami Jean-François C. Lemay. Voici comment il décrit le savant processus:
After brewing some inspiration, we scanned sketches and created the project in Adobe Illustrator v.6. The challenge was to recreate the figure strictly with parts of tangeant circles. We thought this aesthetic would be the only one to provide the desired style of figure. One circle also had to be preceded and followed by one circling in the other direction. Eventually, an added challenge came from our idea for the figure to be an abstract figure of two birds, or one with its shadow. We perfected the figure very often, which implied the continuous reconstruction of the implied circles. This was done entirely manually. Once the desired figures were obtained, we offsetted the path a few times until we got a decent result. We added some extra shapes and agreed on the specific colors.
